This is Coach Kahn's second year as head coach, having been an assistant coach for two seasons. Coach Kahn competed in youth bowling leagues throughout his high school years at Buffalo Grove High School, and after taking time off during his college years, he then bowled in several couples’s leagues with his wife and their friends. He is currently working towards his bronze level coaching certification through the United States Bowling Congress.

Coach Kahn has also been teaching Uechi-ryu Karate for over twenty-five years, and is well-known nationally as a highly sought out seminar teacher and tournament referee. Over the years he has coached many of his students to numerous tournament victories.

Coach Kahn received his BA degree from Brandeis University, as well as an MA in Teaching from National-Louis University and an MS in Geosciences from Mississippi State University. A National Board Certified Teacher, Coach Kahn currently teaches science at LHS, after having spent nearly twenty years working in pharmacy administration. He is married to Debbie, a National Board Certified special education teacher, and they have two daughters, Jami and Talia.

Enjoying his second year as Assistant Boys Bowling Coach, Mr. Kazanow has been a sanctioned-league bowler on and off for the past thirty years.

Mr. Kazanow has been teaching special education for the past eight years in a traditional high school setting as well as at alternative and therapeutic day schools. He has also been teaching the classroom and behind-the-wheel portions of driver education safety since 2006.

Coach Kazanow received his Bachelor in Arts in Special Education from Northeastern Illinois University where he graduated with honors in 2003. He recently graduated from Northern Illinois University, where he obtained his Master’s Degree in Industrial Management with specialties in workplace safety and disaster preparedness.
