TEAM NEWS 2010
10/11: The varsity Wildcats wrapped up their season in high fashion on Monday at the IHSA Rockford Guilford Sectional Tournament by shooting a team 357 (averaging under 90 per girl!). Marilyn Stone led the Cats with an 82, narrowly missing a state-qualifying berth by just one shot. Camilla Ou shot her best 18 hole round of the year with an 88. Darinka Sutic fired an impressive 91 and Victoria Mendenhall, in her last match as a Wildcat, rounded out the scoring with a 96. Congratulations to the team on their great Sectional score.
10/9: The varsity Wildcats won the Exmoor Country Club Invite on Saturday in dramatic fashion. First, in match play Marilyn Stone won 1.5 points against her competitors from Highland Park, Lake Forest, and New Trier. Darinka Sutic teamed with Emilie Teitz to win one point. With the match in the balance, Camilla Ou and Paige Webb took down their competition on both the front nine and the back, giving the Wildcats three points and a 5.5 total, which tied Lake Forest for first. Then, in a one shot chipping contest, Marilyn Stone put a 25 yard chip ten feet from the hold to win the tie-breaker and claim the trophy!
10/6: Congratulations to the Libertyville Girls Golf Team on winning their first-ever Regional Championship! The Cats fired a 373 on Wednesday at Bittersweet Golf Course, holding off second place Warren (376) and third-place Vernon Hills (377). The victory earns the Wildcats an entry into Monday's Sectional tournament in Rockford. Congratulations also to Marilyn Stone, who shot an 82 and won the individual championship! Great job, Marilyn. Congrats to all six girls on their accomplishment: Marilyn Stone, Darinka Sutic, Kaitlin Woodyard, Victoria Mendenhall, Camilla Ou, and Paige Webb.
 9/28: The Wildcats continued their impressive play on Tuesday at the North Suburban Conference Prairie / Lake Tournament at Deerpath Golf Course. The varsity Wildcats took second place, led by Kaitlin Woodyard's 87 which gave her fifth place overall! Also medaling were Victoria Mendenhall (93), Darinka Sutic (93), and Emilie Teitz (94). The junior varsity also came in second, led by overall jv champion Anna King, who shot a 95. Marissa Yukus (99) also medaled. Congrats to the Wildcats!

9/27: The streak continues as the varsity Wildcats won for the fourth consecutive time, defeating Lake Forest 181-185 at Lake Bluff Golf Course. Paige Webb led the Wildcats with an impressive 43. Not far behind was Kaitlin Woodyard (45), Victoria Mendenhall (46), and Camilla Ou (47). The Wildcats' record now evens out at 5-5. The win train keeps rolling for the junior varsity, too, as they defeated Lake Forest 192-206. Emilie Teitz medaled with a 45.
9/25: The Wildcats traveled to Freeport to participate in the Pretzel Invite Saturday and took 6th Place out of 21 teams. Marilyn Stone had a 90 to lead the Wildcats. Paige Webb (97), Kaitlin Woodyard (98), and Darinka Sutic (100) also carded scores. At Park Hills Golf Course, Marilyn won the long drive competition on #8, Darinka won closest to the pin on #11 and closest to the pin in two shots on #14, and Camilla Ou picked up the long drive on #10.
9/24: Friday was the Faculty / Student Golf Outing at Willow Glen!! Congratulations go to the victors: Joyce Kleinheinz, Hannah Hughes, Alex Quenan, and Ian Grant.
9/22: The streaking Wildcats won their third straight match Wednesday 177-206 over Hoffman Estates. Victoria Mendenhall shot her best round of the year and finished with medalist honors for her 40. Marilyn Stone (44), Camilla Ou (46), and Darinka Sutic (47) also carded scores. The JV Wildcats continued their winning ways with a 238-286 victory. Anna King took medalist honors with a 47.
9/21: Rain Out! The Wildcats and Scouts were pulled off the golf course Tuesday at Lake Bluff Golf Course. The match will be made up on Monday 9/27.
 9/15: The Wildcats defeated Lake Zurich High School today by a score of 174-197 at Willow Glen GC. Marilyn Stone was the medalist with a 38, her best round of the season. Recent call-up Emilie Teitz shot a 44, while Camilla Ou (45) and Darinka Sutic (47) also carded scores. The JV Cats were victorious with a 209-218 victory. Victoria Mendenhall topped the JV with a 48.
9/14: The Wildcats defeated Elk Grove High School by the score of 184-218 today at Willow Glen GC. Kaitlin Woodyard and Camilla Ou led the Wildcats as each shot 44. Emilie Teitz shot a 46 in her varsity debut and Paige Webb rounded out the effort with a 50. The JV Cats were also victorious, winning 201-279. The top JV score was Anna King's 46.
9/11: The Cats shot a 385 on Saturday at the Waukegan Invite at Bonnie Brook Golf Course. Scores were posted by Marilyn Stone (90), Camilla Ou (96), Darinka Sutic (96), and Kaitlin Woodyard (103).
9/10: The Wildcats lost to Deerfield Friday 175-192 at Willow Glen. Marilyn Stone led the Cats with a 45. Paige Webb (47), Camilla Ou (49), and Kaitlin Woodyard (51) also posted scores. The JV Cats were victorious 190-201. Emilie Teitz medaled for the Cats with a 45.
9/8: The Wildcats suffered a narrow defeat Wednesday by the score of 190-193. Scores were Kaitlin Woodyard 46, Marilyn Stone 47, Darinka Sutic 47, and Camilla Ou 53. The JV Cats lost in a tie-breaker settled by Mundelein's fifth best score being three shots better.
9/3: The Wildcats defeated Carmel at Willow Glen Golf Course on Friday 176-198. Marilyn Stone was the match medalist with a 42. Kaitlin Woodyard and Camilla Ou each posted a 44 while Victoria Mendenhall shot her best score of the season, 46. The JV Wildcats lost their match against Carmel 214-220. Emilie Teitz shot a 49.
9/1: The Wildcats lost to Vernon Hills at Vernon Hills Golf Course on Wednesday, 188-195. Marilyn Stone led the Wildcats with a 44, as Victoria Mendenhall (46), Camilla Ou (48), and Darinka Sutic (57) also provided scores. The JV Wildcats won their match against Vernon Hills and moved to 3-0 on the season. Medaling was Anna King with a 50.
8/28: At Illinois State University's D.A. Weibring Golf Club on Saturday the Wildcats took 8th out of 18 teams in the U-High Girls Golf Classic Invite by shooting a 376. Kaitlin Woodyard was the LHS medalist with an 87. Marilyn Stone (92), Camilla Ou (98), and Paige Webb (99) also posted scores for the Wildcats.
8/25: The Wildcats had a great day at Willow Glen in their match against Stevenson, shooting a season-best 173. Darinka Sutic medalled for LHS with a 41. Right behind her was Marilyn Stone with a 42 and Paige Webb with a 43. Kaitlin Woodyard had a 47 as the Cats posted four scores in the 40s. Unfortunately Stevenson, led by Stephanie Miller (37) and Nicole Crosby (37), had a 168. The JV Wildcats, though, went to 2-0 with a 213-235 victory over the Patriots. Emilie Teitz again led the jv with a 50.
8/23: The Wildcats took 6th place out of 12 teams at this year's Lake County Invite at Bonnie Brook GC in Waukegan. Darinka Sutic shot her best round of the year and finished with the Wildcats' top score of 89. Paige Webb pulled in a 92, while Victoria Mendenhall and Marilyn Stone shot 98.
8/20: The Wildcats suffered a setback on Friday, losing 188-192 to the Warren Blue Devils at Bittersweet GC. Number one player Marilyn Stone had to withdraw on the second hole with shoulder problems. Paige Webb was the LHS medalist with a 42. Other Wilcats scores belonged to Kaitlin Woodyard (48), Camilla Ou (50), and Darinka Sutic (52). The junior varsity Wildcats pulled out a victory in their first match. Emilie Teitz led the jv with a 50.
8/19: The Wildcats continued their break-out week by taking second place out of six teams at the LHS Invite at Pine Meadow in Mundelein. The Cats shot an impressive 355. The top four players combined to average under 89 each. Marilyn Stone led the way with an 85. Camilla Ou shot her personal best 89. Kaitlin Woodyard (90) and Darinka Sutic (91) also carded scores for the Cats. The event was covered by the News Sun and the Daily Herald.

8/17: The Wildcats kicked off the season by racing out of the gates with a 366, good for 10th place out of 17 teams, at the highly competitive Barrington Invitational. Marilyn Stone paced the Cats with an 86. Also carding scores were Kaitlin Woodyard (91), Darinka Sutic (93), and Paige Webb (96).

9/28: The Wildcats continued their hot streak by taking second place at the Prairie/Lake Conference Golf Tournament at Deerpath Golf Course on Tuesday. The Cats shot a 367, led by Kaitlin Woodyard's 87. Kaitlin won the 5th place medal. Also medaling were Victoria Mendenhall (93), Darinka Sutic (93), and Emilie Teitz (94). The JV Wildcats tied for first but took second by virtue of a tie-breaker. Anna King won first place out of 54 JV golfers with a 95. Marissa Yukus also medaled with a 99. Congrats to the Cats.
