SPRING SEMESTER
- Stay focused! Keep your grades up and continue to explore your post-high school options. Where do you see yourself in ten years? How are you going to get there?
- Choose your courses for your junior year. This is a very important activity! Talk to your friends and family. Especially, talk with your teachers because their recommendations carry a lot of weight! It is difficult and sometimes impossible to change your curriculum choices at a later date. Career Cruising can help you decide what courses to take.
- Start planning your summer. The CRC collects information of various summer enrichment activities. Come check out our Summer Box!
- Visit the ICE College Fair at CLC in March. There will be over 175 college representatives to answer questions and hand out info! Print out a sheet of labels with your name, address, year in school, and contact information (e-mail address, phone number) so you can stick a label to the information cards the reps give you. It will save you time and energy filling out the same information over and over again - and you'll have time to actually talk with the reps.
- Attend Sophomore Pre-College Awareness Night: Destination Anywhere, hosted by the CRC. Watch your mailbox for details!
- Go to your Family Connection account. This will be your primary source for college planning. Especially important is the completion of the My Colleges and My Game Plan sections! Update these sections regularly. Update My Checklist.
- Plan some college visits over the summer. Have FUN with this -- it can be exciting and enjoyable! If you start early and in a relaxed way, you'll be ahead of the game and won't be so stressed come junior and senior years!
